Solution 1: Windows 7 Password Reset Disk

Windows 7 system enables you to create a Windows 7 password reset disk in Control Panel. Thus when you forgot admin password, you can use the disk to reset Windows 7 admin password. But if you forgot to create such a disk in advance, you had better to use third-party password recovery tool.

Step 1. Type a incorrect password when you attempt to login. The screen will display a message that the password is wrong, and then click OK to close the message. After that, a link "Reset Password" will appear on the screen.

Step 2. Click Reset password, and then insert your reset disk.

Step 3. Follow the steps in the Password Reset wizard to create a new password. Even though you have no knowledge about password recovery, following the wizard is enough.

Step 4. Login Windows 7 with the new password. If you forget your password again, you can use the same disk. You don't need to make a new one.

Solution 2: Windows Password Recovery Tool

If you don't have a reset disk at hand, you can resort to Windows Password Buster. This Windows Password Recovery Tool can help you reset administrator and other user account passwords with USB flash drive or CD disc.

Solution 3: Reset Windows 7 Password with Command

You can also reset Windows 7 password with command prompt. It requires that you have a Windows system repair disc. You can create the system repair disc on any Windows 7-based computer. You need to boot the locked computer from the disc and use the system recovery option to open a command prompt window, and then type the command to reset admin password:

The command is: net user username password

You need to replace the username and password with the combination you want. By taking this method, you'll lose access to encrypted files, encrypted email messages, and the stored passwords in Internet Explorer and network resources.

This method is difficult for computer rookie. You can follow the video below.

In my opinion, if you aren't good at computer technology, you'd better use third party password reset tool.

These methods can help you get access to computer again when you forgot admin password. You can choose the one that suits you best to reset Windows 7 admin password. You can re-install Windows 7 with data lost, or reset the password with Windows Password Buster, and no data lost.
